Buckley Broadcasting has sold WSEN AM, WSEN FM and WFBL AM to Leatherstocking Media Group, Inc. for $2.1 million, pending approval from the Federal Communications Commission.
Owned by James Johnson, Leatherstocking made the offer Aug. 14 and was set to take over operations at the Baldwinsville cluster of stations Sept. 1 including the sale of advertising time and programming for the stations. Johnson also purchased WMCR AM/FM in Oneida recently, where technological upgrades and program changes were implemented.
Calls to the station concerning the sale have not been returned.
WSEN has changed ownership four times in its 50-year existence. The stations, located at the corner of Hencle Boulevard and Smokey Hollow Road in Baldwinsville, broadcast classic hits from the 60s, 70s and 80s, and golden oldies from the 50s and 60s.
