Oneida Police blotter Oct. 16 to Oct. 23

Brittany L. Leuenberger, 17, of Madison Street, Oneida, was issued an appearance ticket Oct. 20 to appear in Oneida City Court Oct. 30 to answer a charge of petit larceny. Leuenberger is alleged to have shoplifted merchandise form Rite Aid.

Robert A. Burton, 29, of North Main Street, Oneida, was issued a criminal summons Oct. 20 to appear in Oneida City Court Oct. 23 to answer a charge of criminal mischief in the third degree. Burton is alleged to have intentionally damaged a window of a North Main Street building by punching and damaging the window.

David L. Allen Jr., 23, of Ravine Street, Canastota, was issued a criminal summons Oct. 23 to appear in Oneida City Court Oct. 30 to answer a charge of issuing a bad check.

Teresa M. Hyland, 20, of East Elm Street, Oneida, was issued a criminal summons Oct. 23 to appear in Oneida City Court to answer charges of criminal mischief in the fourth degree and Harassment in the second degree. Hyland is alleged to have recklessly damaged the property of another and have struck the person in the face and head several times.

Shane J, Thornton, 31, of Route 31, Durhamville, was arrested Oct. 22 on a bench warrant for allegedly failing to appear as directed for a non-jury trial on an open container alcohol in public charge. Thornton was released on bail set at $150 to appear in Oneida City Court at a later date.

Jessica I. Platt, 39, of Oneida, was charged Oct. 23 with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. Platt was charged following investigation into a motor vehicle accident that happened around 6 a.m. on Genesee Street near Palmer Drive. Platt was traveling west on Route 5 when she left the roadway and struck utility pole breaking the pole, she then went through a ditch, became airborne into another ditch striking a culvert pipe. She received minor injuries. She will appear in Oneida City Court Nov. 5.
