Why are you running for a seat on the Manlius Town Board?
I would like to see the quality of life that we now have continue. I have been on the task force for the past four-plus years. We have made a number of recommendations that I would like to see [the board] move on with.
Name at least two key issues happening within the town that concern you and please describe what you would like to do to address them, if elected.
New development of commercial property. I believe that we have a number of vacant commercial properties that should be revived first before allow new development.
Taxes. Maintain the current level with out reducing the current quality of life. We need to work with the villages and town to increase shared services and in some cases consolidate where needed.
Name at least two key issues happening within the town that you believe affect town residents -- positive or negative. What changes would you make, if any?
The Price Chopper Development on Route 92 east of the village of Manlius. It will be a benefit to the community, [but] at the same time this will have a negative impact on the adjacent residential neighborhood and highway traffic. I believe that other areas should be explored.
Sidewalks proposed between the villages of Manlius and Fayetteville will have a negative impact on the adjacent neighborhood. I believe that a different approach can be taken.
Why should Manlius residents vote for you?
I have been a life long resident of the village of Manlius and town of Manlius. I believe my management background at Carrier Corp. and my business experience as a small business owner allows me the skills and knowledge to successfully look at all issues, make a decisions that are fair to all sides. I will strive to keep the town of Manlius the great place it is to live, work and raise a family in.
