The Baker High School Marching Band was awarded first place in the Large School II Division at the Jordan-Elbridge competition held Sept. 12. The Marching Band has had four competitions to date and has won first place each time. The band will travel to New York City over Columbus Day weekend and perform their show on the USS Intrepid. The show is entitled "At Dawn They Slept." It is a tribute to all men and women from Pearl Harbor in a depiction of the Dec. 7,1941 attack and the enduring resolve and courage of the American spirit. Drum Majors Dan Mullarney and Emily Gell are pictured with the first place award from the Jordan-Elbridge Sounds of Autumn Competition. Band Director is Casey Vanderstouw.
