If you're interested in helping support volunteer programs that make a real difference in the Baldwinsville community, the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center asks that you consider becoming a board member of the organization.
The center is currently operating with a minimum number of board members. There are no requirements or qualifications to serve on the board. Members are responsible for attending monthly meetings, providing guidance for the center's various programs and pitching in to help programs such as the Christmas Bureau and Taste of Baldwinsville.
Anyone interested in joining the board or attending a meeting to learn more should contact the Center's Executive Director, Nancy Conley, at 638-0251.
Members of the board now are: President Trish Hipolito, Vice President Jim Santoro, Treasurer Linda Bartlett, Secretary Maureen Fleming, Lauri Bernstein, Mike Ceravole, Megan O'Donnell, Jeanne Pray, Joan Simmonds and students Peter Cuppernull and Joe Romeo.
The Baldwinsville Volunteer Center mobilizes people and resources to fulfill needs within the community. Its programs include transporting senior citizens; the Christmas Bureau, which provides food and gifts to families and elderly shut-ins; mentoring school children; promoting community involvement and opportunities for youth, and an information and referral help line to let people know about community resources and promote volunteer opportunities.
