County North Children's Center Inc., has worked closely with the Town of Salina to expand the child care center.
The center was able to open up another infant room, take additional school age children for holidays and summer care, and will open up a new pre-school room next year. Infant care is the most difficult to find for families. County North is an NAEYC accredited center.
Town of Salina Supervisor Mark Nicotra said he is pleased with the additional rooms.
"The town of Salina and County North have had a great relationship over the years," Nicotra said. "The town is proud to continue and expand its relationship with County North because of the outstanding service that County North provides to the residents of Salina and the surrounding area."
Beth Pastel, the Director of County North for over twenty years, said she is thrilled with opening up more child care slots.
"Our waiting list for infants is very long. This is a consistent trend in child care," Pastel said. "Parents are very excited we are able to accommodate them. County North has a long standing place in the community."
