B'ville: Keeping children warm this winter

"We want to do more," said Andrew Carpenter, also a sixth grader. "This was very fun. We just used scissors and our hands and our talented minds."

One student even picked up more material with her mother to make more blankets at home.

"They are nice and thick," Grants said about the finished blankets.

The Greater Baldwinsville YMCA operates five after school programs throughout the district including Reynolds, Van Buren, Palmer and West Entry at the Y. Ray is the newest program, which started in September.
