"Everyone is an amateur, but we've sung in chorals and choir groups," Conley said. "Everyone has a little different experience. Several are quite accomplished musicians. With practice, we put it together."
The 10-member group practices every Monday and performs at all types of venues. Gig-meister Burns books their shows at summer festivals, nursing homes and other events. The group sang at the Vera House White Ribbon breakfast and twice each of the past three years at the Taste of Syracuse.
The group also does sporting events. They sang the national anthem to kickoff a Sky Chiefs game this year and will have the opportunity to sing the anthem again to kickoff the Syracuse vs. St. Bonaventure basketball game on Dec. 19.
"That's going to be so much fun," Burns said.
Most of noXcuse's gigs are benefits including their upcoming A Cappella For the Fellas, which includes five other a cappella groups and benefits the Rescue Mission. The performance will be held Feb. 13 at Onondaga Community College's Storer Auditorium.
