Make a day of the annual holiday sale
When you make your way to the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Holiday Sale this year why not make a day of it? The Hamilton Baptist Church will host once again the treasure trove of holiday gifts, raffles and handmade crafts at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 5 that members of the community have been working on all year.
Take advantage of the wonderful Noel Caf (c) that will be serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. For $7 you can choose between soups as well as a serving of meat or vegetable strata. Also included in the price is a beverage and home baked cookies. Set in a cozy room off the hallway, the caf (c) has been a real favorite for shoppers. The 4H club volunteers will once again be our servers.
Local artisans are knitting, sewing and carving beautiful items that will be up for sale in the basement of the church right along side the Noel Caf (c). Many people from far and wide offer their wares as donation to the fund raising effort of the CMH Auxiliary to support the hospital's new Neurology Department including support for the purchase of EEG and EMG machines. Beautiful sweaters and mittens, handcrafted wood projects, and of course the many holiday decorations are just some of the things that have offered in the past. Fresh evergreen swags, kissing balls and basket arrangements adorn the area and are also up for sale.
Don't forget to take some chances on the many raffle items that will be available. On Nov. 23 a display of donated merchandise will be at the town office and there will also be a number of theme baskets at the sale. Tickets purchased at the sale will go for 1 for $2, 10 for $5 and 25 for $10. Drawings will take place late on the afternoon of the sale and winners will be notified.
