Flippin' fun raises funds for 27 years

Annual pancake breakfast held each Election Day

For 27 years, or as close as anyone can recall, members of the Canastota Rotary Club have hosted a fund-raising pancake breakfast on Election Day when they serve up fresh hot griddle cakes, French toast and sausage all day long.

Proceeds from the event benefit several ongoing Rotary Club programs, such as hosting foreign exchange students, Polio Plus and other local and world-wide efforts.

The 24 local Rotarians were helped all day by several volunteers from the Canastota High School chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America. FBLA members helped serve tables, while the Rotarians did the cooking.

Another highlight of the event was the gift basket raffles. About a dozen baskets were donated by Rotarians which featured items such as a gas grill, assorted gift baskets and Canastota Cut Glass.
