North Syracuse Village mayor-police chief scuffle, still an issue

"Hopefully it will all work out," Browning said.

After the meeting, she said the board's "cohesiveness" has helped them deal with the situation. Browning said the mayor should be at the next abstract meeting since it falls on a Tuesday with the holiday. She said mayor Heindorf doesn't work on Tuesday nights, thus he should be attending.

Chief Connelly said he has seen the report and has seen the mayor since the incident.

"We're in the same building and we work together," Connelly said. "I'm as anxious as everyone to get beyond this."

Above all, the chief said he wants to get past the issue and focus on the village's public safety. "It's our purpose," Connelly said.
