The New York State Buckle Up campaign runs Nov. 16 to 29. Extra patrols will be enforcing seat belt compliance. Also, new New York state laws regarding child car seats, texting while driving and new laws for young drivers will be taking effect this month and in February 2010. Arrests for the week:

Daniel S. Goetzman, 18, of 19 Heather Woods Court, Skaneateles, was charged Nov. 2 with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment.

Christopher J. Furnia, 49, of 3747 Otisco Valley Road, Marietta, was charged Nov. 5 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, improper plates, no sticker and operating a motor vehicle while registration is suspended or revoked.
