Music Heals CNY is holding it's first CD Drive

Donate new or gently used CDs and portable CD players and we, at no fee, will then distribute them to hospitals and health care facilities in hopes of building CD libraries so patients may check music in and out. There will be drop off points at various local music stores around Central New


The Music Drive runs from Nov. 1, 2009 through Jan. 2, 2010.

Donators may drop off CDs and players at the following locations: THE MUSIC CENTER (4277 James Street, East Syracuse, NY 13057), C&G MUSIC (52 Oswego Street, Baldwinsville, NY), DADDY'S JUNKY MUSIC (2413 Brewerton Road, Mattydale, NY), BEAT STREET MUSIC CO 19 E Seneca Street Manlius, NY).

Music Heals CNY's mission is to bring live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients in healthcare facilities throughout Central New York.

In addition, Music Heals will produce benefit concerts for families in need.

Music Heals CNY uses music to promote and complement the healing process for patients, families and caregivers.

Additionally, Music Heals CNY seeks to raise awareness of the beneficial effects of music and entertainment.


Lisa is a Syracuse native and national recording artist who recently returned home to her roots after living in NYC for many years. She has recorded and performed extensively throughout the country and released three CD's, her latest of which just won a SAMMY Award for Best Country Recording. Lisa is the host of the popular

Music Mavericks Open Mic Series and producer of musical concerts and events around CNY. Lisa also continues to perform and record with her band and solo-acoustic.
