CBA swimmers dominate sectional meet

Cameron-Carter saw all this and finally gave F-M partisans a victory in a tense 100 backstroke. At the wall, Cameron-Carter posted 1:00.51, just 0.01 seconds better than New Hartford's Abigail Max (1:00.52), this after she had placed third in the 100 freestyle in 54.56 seconds.

And the winning continued for CBA, too. Speidel needed 5:15.73 to pull away from the field in the 500 freestyle, and Coughlin (1:07.43) won the 100 breaststroke over James (1:09.37), with Damico in third place.

CBA would sweep all the relays, too. In the 200 freestyle relay, Wetzel, Letourneau, Coughlin and Fletcher improved to 1:41.56, and in the 400 freestyle relay Schmitt, Speidel, Wetzel and Fletcher won again in 3:41.04, more than five seconds better than the Class A meet.

Amid all this, Jamesville-DeWitt finished second in the Class B team event behind New Hartford. Molly Hair was second in the 200 IM (2:23.03) and Katie Coyne third (2:23.34), with Coyne also second in the 100 butterfly (1:02.97) and Hair third in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.65).

Elsewhere for the Red Rams, Jilly Rippon was third in the 100 butterfly (1:05.05) and Katie Comanici fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:42.46).

Finally, Manlius-Pebble Hill contended in Class C, as Lisie Andersson won the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:36.83 after a fifth in the 100 freestyle. Carley Bright was second in the 200 freestyle in 2:12.19 and fourth in the 100 backstroke.
