Seat belt traffic check conducted
The Oneida City Police conducted a seat belt traffic check on May 21 as part of a statewide initiative to enforce seat belt violations. The traffic checkpoints were conducted on Lake Road from 10 a.m. to noon and on Broad Street from noon to 2 p.m.
As a result, 21 traffic tickets were issued; eight were for no seatbelt violations, five for cell phone violations, six for no inspection certificates, one for operating out of class and one for failure to comply.
Clarence S. Hoch, 27, of Farrier Avenue, Oneida was arrested for second-degree criminal contempt for allegedly violating a court order.
Steven C. Barrett, 37, of Vine Street, Liverpool was arrested for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speed in zone.
