She's the real deal

"What you see is what you get," said certified master hypnotherapist Marlyn Krch.

Krch, 75, of Liverpool said she takes pride in her "real" appeal, open-mindedness and caring personality. Her 35-plus years of work in the hypnotherapy field have brought her to a unique level of communication with others.

Before a session in her Liverpool home office, Krch always has a new client review her credentials which include certified advanced training from Hypnotism Training Institute of L.A., Glendale, Calif., and a second degree in reiki practice from the American Reiki Master Association. The list contains 10 total listings of credentials that can be found on her brochure.

Krch uses hypnotherapy to help people quit smoking, manage stress, overcome fears, control habits, manage weight, build confidence, as well as many other issues people may be struggling with.

She explained the importance of reaching beyond the self-conscious state because that is the root of where habits begin and stay active.

In general, she usually sees a client only once because she teaches them self-hypnosis during the first session. She instills the skills of self-hypnosis in her clients so they can use the tools everyday of their lives.

"I suggest that people do self-hypnosis three times a day for the rest of their lives," Krch said. "It's a tool we can use in our everyday lives to bring about the changes we would like to achieve."

During a session, Krch will take a client to a "sleep" state, but the client stay conscious throughout the whole process. The term "sleep" is merely used to bring about passive relaxation.

For example, Krch said that people who have alcohol or dug addictions generally have a need for the chemical that supplies the instant gratification.
