FISH come together for annual meeting

FISH of Skaneateles volunteers -- also known as Friends in Service Here -- gathered at the Skaneateles Community Center for their annual meeting Tuesday May 12 to review the past year and to meet some of the other volunteers. All contribute their time and gas to make sure that all Skaneateles residents are able to keep medical and dental appointments in Skaneateles and Auburn, as well as hair and any other appointments in Skaneateles.

Weekday transportation to banks, the library and local stores and shops is available and provided after medical needs are met, since two volunteer drivers are normally scheduled each day. Residents can make arrangements by calling the dispatcher by 8 a.m. any morning a ride is needed at the FISH line: 685-6679.

New drivers are always welcome and can volunteer to be scheduled one day a month at the driver's convenience by phoning the dispatcher or Pat Blackwell at 685-0533.
