The 10th annual Oneida Savings Bank Wilber-Duck Mile, "Central New York's Fastest Mile" will take place June 19,
The event is sponsored by the Syracuse Track Club and Fleet Feet Sports, and benefits the Oneida High School and the Oneida United Way.
Registration and start take place at Wilber-Duck Chevrolet and Buick, 116 Broad St., in Oneida. The flights include: walkers, followed by females and then the males. Race day registration and packet pick up begins at 7:30 a.m. on the day of the race. The race starts at 6:45 p.m.
The entry fee is $10 or $15 after June 12. Keepsake t-shirts will be given to all registrants. Cash awards of $100, $50 and $25 will be given to the first three finishers for males and females. An additional $50 will be give to anyone who breaks the course records. Awards will be given to each age group: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59 and over 60.
The course is flat and fast with a four street loop.
Course records are held by Matt LoPiccolo with a time of 4:17 and Amanda Laytham with a time of 4:56.
The race is an official function with all proceeds going to support Oneida High School and Oneida United Way programs.
"We need to have 1,000 runners register in order to buy the Oneida High School a treadmill," said Frank Duck.
There is no admission or parking fees. Participants are asked to bring a canned good to be donated to the Salvation Army.
