The Baldwinsville Central School District has received the 2009 School Safety Excellence Award from the Utica National Insurance Group. At its March 23 school safety seminar, Utica National presented the district with a certificate, as well as a $500 award for use in furthering the district's safety efforts. Utica National's School Safety Excellence Award Program evaluates participating school districts in several categories, from school playground safety to indoor air quality. The award program has three levels -- titanium, platinum and gold. The Baldwinsville Central School District received the award at the titanium level, which is the highest level a district can achieve.
