Kathy Kowalczyk has joined the HOPE for Bereaved team.
Kowalczyk, who is the newest volunteer to the Celebration of HOPE committee, will help organize more than 300 silent auction items and gift baskets for the Celebration of HOPE Dinner and silent auction, which benefits the HOPE for Bereaved Grief Center. The event will be held Friday Nov. 13 at the ONCenter. Last year, the Celebration of HOPE Dinner raised $100,000 for HOPE FOR BEREAVED.
Other event volunteer opportunities include data entry, obtaining corporate sponsorships, marketing, graphic design, solicitation/organization of auction items, auction set-up and table decorating. No previous experience is required.
"We welcome new volunteers to join our dynamic committee of dedicated volunteers," said Kelly O'Neill-Rossi, the development and public relations director.
Throughout the past three decades, HOPE has helped more than 300,000 grieving children and adults in the community. HOPE's programs and services include one-to-one counseling, 10 support groups, telephone helpline, HOPELine Newsletter, grief workshops for daycare providers, on-site bereavement support for employers dealing with grief in the workplace and 24-hour crisis packets for schools when there is a death in the school.
