Students visit Wampsville

March 4 was a busy day for the students at Brookfield Central School involved in Government Group. They took a daylong trip to Wampsville to take part in a tour of the jail, court house, 911 Center and County Clerk's office, including the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Supervisor Richard O. Bargabos (R -- Smithfield), who serves as vice chairman of the Madison County Board of Supervisors and County Administrator Paul Miller spent time with the youths, explaining county government and answering questions.

The Government Group is an educational experience where young people learn hands-on about citizenship.
