One Car Crash Has Search Crews Looking for Driver

Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reports that Sheriff's Deputies are investigating an early morning crash and searching for the driver.

At approximately 3 a.m. today, Tuesday March 24, the Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a single vehicle crash reported at the 2800 block of West Seneca Turnpike, where a 2004 Ford Ranger pickup truck had struck a utility pole.

Deputies report that the pickup truck was traveling east on West Seneca Turnpike when it drifted off the roadway, flipped over and came to rest when striking a utility pole. Neighbors told deputies that they heard the crash and saw two subjects running from the scene and heading into a wooded area.

Robert Kilcoyne, 24, of 4457 Dublin Road in Marcellus, was found a short distance from the crash scene and transported to Community General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Kilcoyne, who is believed to be the passenger of the pickup, appeared to be intoxicated and was uncooperative with the investigation, deputies reported.

Deputies report that Kyle Connor (24), of 4544 Cedarvale Road, is believed to have been driving the truck at the time of the crash. Due to the cold weather and the uncertainty of Connor's physical condition, a search was launched to locate him.

Currently volunteers from several volunteer fire departments are searching the wooded area near the crash scene for Connor. Anyone with information regarding Connor's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office by calling 425-2111.
