March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

Madison Cortland ARC announced last week the agency is pleased to again receive a proclamation from the Madison County Board of Supervisors, proclaiming the month of March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month during its regular monthly board meeting March 10.

Every year during the month of March, communities across New York state join together to recognize the accomplishments and contributions made by family members, friends and neighbors who have a developmental disability.

Area residents are asked to join in the recognition by supporting Madison Cortland ARC, a chapter member of NYSARC Inc., that provides support and services to people with developmental disabilities.

"I would like to again thank Madison County for their years of continued support of our mission," said Ray Lewandowski, executive director of Madison Cortland ARC. "Times are tough, and your continued understanding and the support of the community really does contribute to building futures for people with developmental disabilities."
