Sheriff's deputies investigate early morning robbery in Cicero

Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reports Sheriff's Detectives are

investigating the robbery of a Cicero gas station.

At approximately 3:55 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to the Mobil gas station, located at 5600 Bartel Road,

to investigate a reported robbery. Witnesses told deputies that an unidentified man entered the store, displayed

what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded money from the early morning clerk. The clerk complied with

the gunman's demand and handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect immediately fled

from the store on foot and was last seen running on foot towards Route 81 south.

The suspect is believed to be either a white or hispanic male and is said to have a medium build. He is believed

to be approximately 6' tall and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white "North Atlantic"

lettering, grey colored baggie jeans and two-toned low top sneakers. During the robbery, the suspect was also

wearing a blue bandana to cover his face.

Sheriff's Deputies searched the area for the suspect, interviewed witnesses and believe the suspect many have

gotten into a vehicle. No one was injured during the incident. Detectives assigned to the Sheriff's Office

Criminal Investigations Division will continue to investigate the incident and encourage anyone with
