Kiwanians celebrate silliness for children, March 22

The Solvay-Geddes-Camillus Kiwanis Club will sponsor a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party," from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday March 22 at the Empire Room, New York State Fairgounds in Geddes.

The "Celebration of Silliness" tea party will feature the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts and her court, the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat and, of course, Alice.

Designed especially for boys and girls ages 3 to 10 - and their favorite grown-up, too -- ticket price of $20 includes meeting the characters, crafts, a magician strolling giant puppets, movie clips and a light lunch. The child-friendly menu will include veggies and fruit dippers, chicken fingers, finger sandwiches, tarts and lemonade or tea.

Kiwanis realizes that part of our community's future depends on healthy children. Proceeds from this event will benefit Golisano Children's Hospital in its mission to bring world-class health care to the children of Central New York.

Reservations for tables of 10 are available by calling Kathy Ammann at 469-3710 or Pat Sentoff at 622-3367 before March 18.
