Liverpool's indoor track and field teams made one more appearance at Manley Field House before its conversion to a Syracuse University practice facility.
And during Friday night' s State Qualifier, the Warriors had some winning moments that assured a presence at this Saturday's state meet at Cornell University.
In the boys 4x800 relay, Liverpool blew away the field. Colin Savage, Frank Johnson, Chris Clemons and Alex Wilke got together and posted a time of 8:07.91 that beat the field by a wide margin. West Genesee (8:23.01) got second place. Savage, on his own, was third in the 1,000-meter run in 2:32.73.
Over in the girls State Qualifier, Trina Bills earned her place in the state meet by winning the 1,000-meter run. Hardly threatened, Bills, in 3:05.79, beat CBA's Carol Giblin by more than three seconds.
Bills also teamed with Brigid Heenan, Rachel Putman and Miranda McConnell for third place in the 4x800 relay in 9:40.61. Heenan took fourth in the 1,500-meter run (5:04.10).
