Oneida businessman faces child porn charges

New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Oneida along with the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force have concluded a six-month under cover operation with the arrest of 38 year-old,

Matthew W. Toomath of 325 North Main Street, Oneida.

Toomath was arrested Friday on multiple felony level charges including Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child, a class "D" Felony and Possessing a Sexual Performance of a child, a class "E" Felony.

State police say Toomath possessed and promoted images and videos of children as young as five years old engaged in sexual acts with adults and animals.

According to investigators, Toomath is the owner of the Ye Olde Pizza Pub in Oneida, the Pizzeria in Morrisville, and is a school board member of St. Patrick's Catholic School in the City of Oneida.

Toomath was arraigned in the City of Oneida Court and held on $25,000 Bail. He is to appear back in court on Friday, June 26 at 9 a.m.
