The Chittenango Lions Club is making plans for its sixth annual Yellow Brick Road Run. The 8K race (about five miles) is scheduled for June 27 at 9 a.m. It will begin at the Chittenango Fire Station and head north out of the village. From there runners go west on the Erie Canal towpath then south on Bolivar Road, proceeding west and then south through Bolivar Heights. From there the route heads east on Tuscarora Road, south on Webber Drive through Sullivan Park onto Lake Street to Russell Street and back to the fire station.
The route has been changed this year reducing the distance on Lakeport Road to one-tenth of a mile and eliminates Lake Street hill.
Entry fees are $15 for pre-registration and $20 race day. Prizes will be awarded in eight age groups from 15 to 70 years old for men and women.
