Now, Chapman said she believes her mom would be honored to know that so many people are pitching in to help raise awareness of the disease that took her life.
The Marcellus Relay for Life will be held from 6 p.m. June 20 to 7 a.m. June 21 in Marcellus Park. Anyone who wishes to make a donation to Team Chapman, another team participating this weekend or join a team, log onto relayforlife.org and search for the relays closest to you.
"Any survivor should be celebrated and anyone that was not able to overcome the disease should be remembered," Chapman said. "Their fight was hard and it should not be forgotten."
