YMCA provides tutoring to B'ville area students

Does your child need academic tutoring this summer? Or do you have a high schooler preparing for the SAT/ACT exams? The YMCA can help.

The YMCA is offering academic and SAT/ACT tutoring to area students through its school age tutoring program. Through the tutoring program, experienced YMCA tutors will assess the child's academic strengths and weaknesses. A program is then designed to include assistance with homework, exam preparation and overall engagement in their school work. Sessions are one hour in length and times, dates and location are tailored around the student's schedule. The tutoring program is open to elementary, middle and high school aged students.

The tutoring program is the latest program the YMCA is introducing to the Baldwinsville community. Area volunteers are actively working with the YMCA of Greater Syracuse to raise funds for and to design a YMCA branch to be built at the corner of Route 31 and Drake's Landing. However, the YMCA is already active in the Baldwinsville community offering programs such as before and after school child care for school age children, school age summer camp, swimming lessons at Baker High School through the town of Lysander, and exercise classes at Canton Woods Senior Center for older adults. For pricing and more information about the YMCA tutoring program, call Kelly Exware at the North Area Family YMCA 451-2562.
