St. Mary's Academy fifth and six grader's held their first International Fair during the month of May.
The International Fair was the culmination of an in-depth research project about the geography and culture of a country selected by the students. Students were asked to choose topics about their countries, which they found interesting such as: geography, economy, people, festivals, food, religion, housing, music, clothing, transportation, music, wildlife, etc. Students were also asked to use at least two different sources to do their research, and prepared note cards for their presentation. Students created visual representations of their country in the form of posters and tri-fold presentation boards. Students created maps, flags and even had foods from their country for the audience to sample.
All St. Mary's Academy students were invited to the International Fair as well as parents of the fifth and sixth grade students.
