The Brigadier's Drum and Bugle Corps, along with three other bands will hold an exhibition at the Canastota High School June 13.
"It's our way of giving back to Canastota," said Rick Martin, band director. "Fred Bragan [superintendent of schools] has allowed the Brigadier's to rehearse at the school. Plus it will be a nice tie-in with the Boxing Hall of Fame weekend."
The gates will open at the school at 6 p.m. The show begins at 7 p.m. with the Canastota High School band performing followed by Excelsior, a corps out of the Albany area. Scheduled next is the White Sabers from Dansville followed by the Brigadier's. The show should be over by 9 p.m., Martin said.
The Booster Club will open the concession stand during the exhibition.
Since January the 100 member corps has spent nearly every weekend in Canastota practicing. The Brigadier's was first established in 1938 but reorganized in 2007. Martin said the corps' purpose is to provide performances that add an educational value to the people of Central New York.
