Canastota pool opens June 13

The Canastota Municipal will be open June 13 through 19 from 3 to 8:30 p.m. for open swimming. June 22 to 26 the pool will be open from noon to 8:30 p.m. and beginning June 29 through Aug. 6, open swim times are from 1 to 4:15 p.m. and from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Residents of the village of Canastota and towns of Lincoln and Lenox can sign up for swim lessons on June 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. and June 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a $10 fee per swimmer and proof of residence is required.

Non-residents can sign up for swim lessons one day only, June 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. There is a $30 fee per swimmer.

Memberships for open swim can be obtained at village hall, 205 S. Peterboro St. The rates are $30 for a single membership or $40 for a family membership. The daily swim fee is $1.

Session two signs up will be held July 18 and 19 from noon to 7 p.m. for residents and July 19 from noon to 7 p.m. for non-residents. The same rates apply as session one.

Pool staff offers lessons in swimming, water ballet, adult lap swim, parent and child aquatics and diving.

Staff also will hold the annual Carnival on Aug. 7 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

The pool will remain open from Aug. 8 through Sept. 1 from noon to 7 p.m.
