A Heritage -- Craft Demonstration Day will be held at the Oneida Lake Congregational Church, Route 31, one mile east of Lakeport on Saturday June 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Speakers and demonstrators will appear at half-hour intervals throughout the day.
The line up includes: Carol Greene, town of Sullivan historian; Leslie McIntyre, basket making; Historian Al Sterling, "Oneida Lake as part of the Transportation Route to Oswego in the 18th Century; Kate Hilts, repairing and making rush, bottom chairs; Dawn Seeber and Lois Parsons, Lakewood School in the 1940s; Rita Schlegel, hand sewing a hexagonal quilt; Floyd Newton, Lakeport School; Rita Snow, flower arranging; Oneida Lake -- Messingers Bay School, speaker to be announced; Betty Cromp, no-bake cookies; Peggy Carter will conduct children's crafts in the nursery area. Embroidery pieces featuring a variety of stitches will be on display.
A refreshment table staffed by Linda Oaster, Don Pexton and other church members will be available with hoagies, sandwiches, popcorn, lemonade, hot dogs, coffee and other munchies at old-time prices.

The event is free and open to the public.
