Camillus to host county fire convention this month

In celebration of it's 100th anniversary, the Camillus Fire Department was selected to host the 2009 Onondaga County Volunteer Firemen's Convention.

The convention will include fan favorite competitive events like pushball, along with live music, fireworks and a judged parade.

The convention is open to the public, and events begin Thursday July 30 and wrap up Saturday Aug. 1. For more information, visit camillusfd.com or call 672-9207 or 412-3636.

July 30

6 p.m. Men's 2-1/2" Pushball

July 31

6 p.m. Men's 1-1/2" Pushball

Followed by Women's Pushball

8:30 p.m. Live music by Lonesome Crow

9:30 p.m. Fireworks

Saturday Aug. 1

10 a.m. Parade in the village of Camillus

12 p.m. Firematic races begin, including Equipment Race, One-man Ladder, Three-man Ladder, Five-man Ladder, Seven-man Hose, "Y" Race, Cart Race, Efficiency Race and Bucket Brigade

12 to 6 p.m. Carnival for the Kids

7 p.m. Live music by Lonesome Crow
