Swing for the Samaritan Center

The St. Joseph's Church Golf Tournament, "Swing for the Samaritan Center," will be held on Friday, Aug. 14 at 4 p.m.

The nine-hole tournament will be held at West Hill Golf Course, 2500 W. Genesee Turnpike in Camillus. This fundraising event will benefit the Samaritan Center, a non-profit interfaith effort to feed the homeless and needy men, women, and children of Syracuse.

The cost of $50 per person includes golf, cart, goodie bag, buffet dinner on the deck that will feature hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, chips, beverage and dessert.

Prizes will be given for the top foursomes, longest drive, closest to the pin, and hole-in-one. In addition there will be awards for best "Family Foursome," "Mother/Daughter," and "Father/Son" teams. Wear your finest golf attire to contend for the "Payne Stewart" award.

To attend the dinner following the tournament the cost is only $30.

Sponsorship opportunities are available for $50 a hole. The golf tournament committee is also looking for door prize donations.

Registration and sponsorship deadline is July 24.
