Baldwinsville's American Legion Post 113's Junior Air Rifle Team presents the 18th annual Air Gun Show and Shoot this weekend.
This event, established as the sole fundraising event for the Junior Air Rifle Team, is one of the major air gun shows put on in the United States. Participants will find hundreds of antique, novelty and modern air guns and supplies. Also, a test firing range will be available for demonstration and sighting air guns.
For senior and junior levels, there will be competitions including the field target rifle shoot, 10-meter rifle shoot, 10-meter pistol shoot and the NRA steel silhouette. In addition, a big bore competition will be held at 1 p.m. and at 2 p.m., an air cane match will be held. Air rifles and pistols will be provided for those wishing to compete, but who don't have their own equipment. Prizes will be awarded at 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Air Gun Show, which has become an international event drawing visitors from Canada, England and across the United States, will be held from noon to 7 p.m. Friday July 17 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday July 18 at 8529 Smokey Hollow Road in Baldwinsville.
The fundraiser event teaches youth safety, safe handling and how to compete in the 10-meter air rifle competition. Call 695-7133 for more information.
