Museum to host ribbon cutting ceremony

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday July 16 for the new mule stable building at Chittenango Landing Canal Boat Museum. The ceremony will be held at the museum, 7010 Lakeport Road, Chittenango.

Sen. David J. Valesky, Assemblyman Bill Magee of district 111, Carmella R. Mantello director of the New York State Canal Corporation and John Snow of the John Ben Snow Foundation, Inc. are scheduled to attend and participate in the ceremony proceedings.

The new mule stable will be 57 feet by 18 feet. Museum personnel believe that the stable will be an interesting and important part of the museum's presentation of the history of the Erie Canal in Chittenango.
