Drivers on Howlett Hill Road should be cautious beginning Tuesday July 14 when the Onondaga County Department of Transportation will implement changes to traffic signals at the intersection of Howlett Hill and Harris roads.
The work involves adding stop signs to roadways approaching Howlett Hill Road and switching the existing four-way flashing light to a red light for all approaches.
The changes are being made as a result of a recent traffic study, although review of accident records for a three-year period at the intersection found no safety concern, the Onondaga County DOT reported.
The change should create slight traffic delays at the intersection as vehicles approaching from all directions will be required to stop, the DOT said.
Work will be weather permitting and should only impair traffic for one day.
