The Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council has cancelled the public meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. this evening (Jan. 28) at Van Buren Elementary School in Baldwinsville. Organizers planned to discuss recommendations related to the Downer Street corridor in the town of Van Buren and the village of Baldwinsville.
As of this morning, there was no news of rescheduling the meeting, which was to be the final public outreach for the Downer Street Corridor Study, a planning effort being completed by SMTC on behalf of the town of Van Buren.
The purpose of the study is to examine issues on the Downer Street corridor and develop transportation and land use recommendations that enhance both the road and its surroundings. This public meeting was to include a presentation on draft recommendations and opportunities for the public to express questions and comments.
