McConnellsville fire equipment missing

The State Police in Sylvan Beach are currently investigating the theft of a Self Contained Breathing Apparatus unit from the McConnellsville Volunteer Fire Department in Oneida County. The unit was manufactured by MSA and is a model MMR/Firehawk 2216 PR 14. It includes a facemask and a half-hour air supply bottle. The unit was taken from the fire station on Mill Pond Way in the Town of Vienna sometime between Dec. 18 and Jan. 13. The unit is a vital piece of safety equipment for the fire department. Anyone with information about the theft of the whereabouts of the unit is asked to call the Sylvan Beach State Police Barracks at 762-4441.
