Hand honored by CNY SPCA

The Central New York SPCA would like to announce Laura Hand as the recipient of the CNYSPCA's Kizey Award being presented on Jan. 22 at Ambrosia in Armory Square. The award has been established to honors those who have gone above and beyond to help the animals in our community. Laura Hand has throughout her lifetime shown her love,

dedication and support for animals. For more than 20 years she has played a major role in helping the unwanted, homeless and abused animals in our shelter find new, loving homes. Each week, Hand promotes one of the shelter's special residents by featuring it on her Live at Noon broadcasts. This opportunity has led to the adoption of hundreds of animals over the years. It is one of the longest running adoption outreach programs for the shelter and one of our most successful. Often within minutes of the animal's appearance with Hand on the Action 3 News Live at Noon program, the phones at the shelter begin ringing off the hook. Not only do the animals shown on the news get adopted, but others who watch this extremely popular broadcast are often spurred into visiting the

CNYSPCA and adopting a different animal.

Tickets to An Evening With Kizey are $25, available at the Central New York SPCA or by calling at 454-4479. You will also be able to purchased tickets at the door the evening of the event. All proceeds from the event will benefit the animals in the care of the Central New York SPCA. For information more information about An Evening With Kizey,
