Declaration of Independence expressions

To end their social studies unit on the American Revolution, fourth-graders at McNamara Elementary School in Baldwinsville used their creativity to rewrite the Declaration of Independence in their own words and to make a flag that represented the 13 colonies. Students painted flags on items such a hockey pucks, flower pots, aprons and birdhouses. They also designed T-shirts, pillow cases and blankets bearing the American flag. James Dugan painted the American flag on a guitar after studying the American Revolution.
