Win a week at Beaver Lake

The Baldwinsville Women's Garden Club will sponsor a Baldwinsville student's attendance at the Beaver Lake Summer Nature Camp this August.

A week at the nature camp, which costs $125, consists of outdoor exploration at Beaver Lake. Students hike the forests learning about the trees and animals, canoe in search of beaver, herons, turtles and snakes and search for insects in the meadow with an entomologist who identifies and teaches about the mysterious lives of bugs. Beaver Lake Naturalist and Camp Director Dave Shubert is very enthusiastic about the idea.

The contest is for students in eighth through 11th grade who are available to attend the full day camp at Beaver Lake the week of Aug. 17 to 21. To win the opportunity, simply write a short essay of no more than 200 words to the Baldwinsville Women's Garden Club explaining why you should be selected to participate in this nature camp experience. Include your name, address, phone number and grade. The ladies of the Garden Club will review the entries and select a winner, who will be published in the Messenger.
