Two students from Baker High School received awards in the SkillsUSA Competition held at SUNY Delhi on Feb. 12. Greg Kowalski (left), a senior, placed first in food and beverage service in the culinary arts competition.
Leah Estock (right), a senior, received third placed in the job skills demo for pastry art. These students advance to the state portion of the competition, which will be held in April at the Oncenter in Syracuse.
High school students from BOCES centers across Central New York attended the competition, participating in over 40 contests to demonstrate their talents and skills.
SkillsUSA is a national organization that connects high school and college students with employers of technical, skilled and service occupations.
