Downer Street Corridor study

The Syracuse Metropolitan Transportation Council presented findings regarding the Downer Street Corridor Study during the second session of a two-part public meeting held last Wednesday at Van Buren Elementary School.

Findings included widening Downer Street at the Route 48 intersection, installing a signal at Canton and Downer streets and moving the signal at Frawley and Downer streets to Meigs Road and Downer Street. Public response to some findings was negative.

The SMTC plans to incorporate comments from last week's public meeting into the recommendations, then produce a final report in March. To view the full PowerPoint presentation, visit smtcmpo.org/meetings.asp.
