4-H hosts annual tack sale
Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County's 4-H Horse Program will be holding its annual tack sale from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday Feb. 21 at the Verona Firehall on Main Street in Verona. Consignments will be taken from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Large quantities of items should be brought in Friday or early Saturday. Check-in will stop promptly at 11 a.m.
The tack sale is organized, planned and carried out by 4-H members, leaders and volunteers in the 4-H Horse Program. In addition to providing an opportunity for horse enthusiasts to purchase new and used horse tack, equipment and supplies, the process of hosting the sale provides 4-H members with countless youth development opportunities. These include life-long skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, decision-making and responsibility. Commission on items and refreshments sold go to the 4-H program to provide scholarships, awards and to further develop resources and horse program offerings.
Consignment sheets are available pre-sale. For consignment sheets or more information, please contact Heather Sweeney at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oneida County at 736-3394 ext. 122.
