Durgee students win Elk's essay contest

Three Durgee Junior High School students have received awards in the local portion of the Elks Americanism Essay Contest. The contest was sponsored by the Liverpool Elks Lodge 2348. Students had to answer the question, "What does freedom mean to me?" Dan Chapman (center) received first place in the contest. MacKenzie Ross (left) placed second and Emily Denniston placed third. Their essays now move on to the Elks' district level of the contest.
