Even with that, Ludden took a 39-34 lead early in the fourth quarter. Showing its grit and experience, Cazenovia did not panic, answering with an 11-2 run that made the score 45-41, the run capped by a Mullins 3-pointer with 2:43 left.
Still up by four, 47-43, Cazenovia watched as Roesch, who finished with 20 points, sink another 3-pointer with 43 seconds left to pull the Gaelic Knights within one, and a defensive stop gave Ludden a chance to go in front.
Roesch never got the ball, but Ashley Cianfriglia, who had 16 points (including three 3-pointers), drove to the baseline and took a 10-foot jumper with four seconds left. It rolled off the rim.
With 1.6 seconds left, Stec got fouled. On the front end of a one-and-one, Stec missed -- but she got her own rebound and ran out the clock to seal the victory.
