B'ville students win Scholastic Art awards

The 2009 Scholastic Art Awards, co-sponsored by M&T Bank and Sycamore Hill Gardens, were announced on Jan. 22. There were 800 awards in 19 categories. Winners from the Baldwinsville School District are as follows:

Baker High School

Gold Key: Photography Portfolio, Amanda Kearney.

Honorable Mention: Fine Arts Portfolio, Cory Pinette.

Gold Key: Mary Johnson, digital photography

Silver Key: Alex Gailor, sculpture; Erin Hansen, sculpture; Erica Miller, analog photography; Kelly Novak, analog photography; and Brianna Stewart, two drawings.

Honorable Mention: Sarah Blewett (two pieces), Grace Brown, Alex Gailor, Erin Hansen, Amanda Kearney, Andrea Keim, Ryan Lawrence, Meghan Mendiola (two pieces), Shannon Muldoon, Kelly Novak, Cory Pinette, Olenka Szczurek, Allen Wood and Kelsey Wooley.

Durgee Junior High School

Honorable Mention: Taylor Pastore, Kelly Wade and Erika Wilcox.

Ray Middle School

Honorable Mention: Julia Alfonso.
